My summer home in New Jersey has benefited from keen attention landscaping that reflects many characteristics of the serenity of Asian landscaping. Thus, I did not have to venture too far to find inspiration for paintings that reflect the peacefulness I am able to enjoy while “up North.”
“Northern Serenity” captures the calm of my Koi pond, where beautiful and colorful koi gracefully swim in hypnotic patterns. “Northern Serenity II” captures the Asian spirit created by a three-foot-high sculpture of one of the Terracotta warriors that we purchased in Xian, China, that sits in a garden with bonsaied miniature trees.
